Meteorologists meeting in New York City today released the startling results of their latest research study on the causes of hurricanes. The results were controversial they said and a minority report by so called "reality-based" meteorologists will be released next week, but the majority agreed with the results of the study which showed a very strong correlation between the presence of people with untreated mental illness and the frequency of hurricanes by region of the globe.
The National Alliance On Mental Illness immediately reacted by saying that although no one with treated mental illness should be stigmatized by the results of this study, it does support what they have been saying all along, untreated mental illness is a problem for everyone, not just those most closely affected.
It is rumored that the scientists writing the minority report claim that proximity to large bodies of water is the strongest predictor of a hurricane in a region. However, the only proof they have for their claim is factual, and therefore can be disregarded by the public.
