Madonna Does Mars

Houston, TX-- NASA is reporting this morning something unusual from Mars--music is playing there. NASA's recently landed Curiosity Rover has picked up the sounds of dozens of songs in the thin martian atmosphere. The discovery is completely unexpected and is confounding scientists.

The Curiosity rover is equipped with a common microphone. The microphone was a last minute idea by NASA engineers. No other space probe has ever had one. The NASA engineers were hoping to hear the wind blowing on Mars--no one expected the music.

"It's Justin Bieber singing. There's also a lot of Lady Gaga and Madonna. It's just awful." said NASA head honcho Dr. Karl Saygun. The famed astronomer covered his ears with both hands and looked distressed. "Whatever happened to good music." he sighed.

NASA scientists aren't sure if the songs are from a terrestrial source or are extraterrestrial.

"It could just be radio waves from Earth bouncing off of Mars, or it could be something from space aliens. We just aren't sure." said Dr. Saygun.

NASA is now busy trying to block the music coming from Mars.

"No one in the control room can stand listening to that crap. Can you imagine listening to Justin Bieber all day at work??" laughed Dr. Saygun.

"We also want to stop any alien civilizations from hearing this junk." said Dr. Saygun. "Imagine if first contact with aliens was through a Madonna song!" he laughed.
