image for Tech world in shock as Facebook go a complete '24 hours' without any changes
The internet crashed on Facebooks announcement

The world of internet geeks and tech specialists spoke out today at their surprise when Facebook made a statement saying that Thursday 26th January 2012 would see absolutely no changes to their security settings, page layout, timeline appearance, group subscriptions, applications or picture settings.

Pete Peterson of Peteternet.web told this reporter: "This is groundbreaking. is Mark Zuckerberg on holiday? Or perhaps the internet connection in his mums basement went down".

Dave Mears a psychiatric nurse from Plaistow said "This is seriously inconvenient news - when I see a Facebook layout or security change I know its time for Ethel's medicine".

Terry Techerson, founder of techersonwebservices.web told the BBC earlier "Gotta say I'm a little bit sad inside at this news. Perhaps twitter will move everything on the left of the screen to the right of the screen? Cos those sort of redesigns bring in 'thousands' of new members yeah?"
