Astronomers have confirmed the existence of an Earth-like planet in the "habitable zone" around a star not unlike our own.
Professor Mike Alidascope told us, "This is the planetary equivalent of Barnsley. In fact, we think it might be Barnsley. We've trained our most powerful equipment on the planet and... Oh... damn... it IS Barnsley."
However, the team does not yet know if Barnsley is made mostly of rock, gas or liquid.
"Fortune smiled upon us with the detection of Barnsley," said William Borucki, Kepler principal investigator at Nasa's Ames Research Centre. "Up until now we'd considered a place like this void of an kind of habitable life. We might be wrong."
Barnsley Mayor Betty Zatawat commented, "He's a twat."
