Is it a gas - or is it a fart?

Well, think about it. There are both American/Canadian and British writers on this site. Probably even more nationalities....but it crossed my mind...and that of others...that...even though we THINK we are speaking the same language....we are most definitely NOT.

In England a 'fanny' is a 'vagina'

In America a 'fanny' is a 'butt'

In England a 'butt' is a 'fag end'

In America a 'fag end' is a 'gay guy's butt'

I say 'tomato' - you say 'tomato'

In England a 'jumper' is a 'sweater'

In America a 'jumper' is a 'pinafore dress'

(or - in BOTH countries - someone on a very high 'place' attempting to commit suicide)
