Saturday Morning Bulldozer Blues

Blackman on a bulldozer
movin' the ground
Saturday morning
and I've just come back from town
And I'm back on the porch
that's where I like to be
But the Industrial Revolution's
gonna be the death of me

Well, I'm drinking my coffee
I like sugar and cream
But I don't like that bulldozer
if you know what I mean
Well, it used to be quiet
on this end of the block
But the sound of the revolution
Just won't stop

Well, you've heard of John Henry
And you've heard of Gentlemen Jim
If he keeps workin' Saturday
that's what they're gonna make out of him
But that money train keeps callin'
It's got a seductive sound
Well, just hang on boys
while they work you right into the ground

Well I listen to music like to play it a lot
Reel Time Travelers are sounding pretty hot
But that damned old bulldozer it sounds in my
other ear
why don't you give it a break boys
and go get you a beer

You got the cats runnin'
You got my neighbor in arms
If you don't watch your step boys
You're gonna feel it in your arms
Cause she's got that hoochi coochi
She's gonna make your head pound
She's got a voodoo doll of everybody in this town

She's got all kinds of bones
I don't know where they're from
But if you don't do right she's gonna get some more son
She's gonna do a dance around you
and pull out your heart
If you don't do right, boys
She's going to tear your world apart

What happened in New Orleans
might happen again
my neighbor has connections
calls Mother Nature her friend
and she talks to her just about every day
If you don't do right boys
she's gonna blow you away
