We've had Band Aid 20, now we're ging to have a charity single for the tsunami disaster. Both promote good causes and the hearts of the majority of the artists are in the right place but they are a waste of time and money. Instead of making the single, just donate the money to the cause and instead of using your 'fame' to sing, instead spend time travelling across the country and educating the people about your particular cause and encourage them that way. Alot of the people who buy the record do it just to appease their concious for the next month. If we want to change the world permanently and not just make small steps in the right direction, there needs to be a consistent approach to world poverty, not something released over christmas. This may be in the form of education and spreading the ideals, which in an advanced world we should be at now, not aiming to reach them sometime in the future. Also, who picks the artists! If these records are released at least get some decent artists and not people who only participate to further career or just to feel better about themselves! An example of this is Rachel Stevens. I have major doubts too about busted but if they can't sing why are they on a a charity single. People say they use their profile but Rachel Stevens fan base consists of teenage males who buy the cd for the videos.
So if you intend to buy a single, think no i'll give the money straight to charity, instead and if we all do this maybe the world will be saved from this recording monstrosities in the future. If we can all do this we will also considerably reduce the recording output of Sir Cliff Richard, who i estimate has doubled his musical output by attaching himself to various charity singles. I mean, Millenium Prayer was a travesty, a disaster in it's own right. Lets get this orange bunion off the face of the world. Batchelor Boy at 60! Anyone who can receive a pension and calls themselves a boy needs help. So for this cause I will break all of the above and at this moment in history we can make a difference. We can stop millions in the world from suffering by eradictaing this parasite. At the moment there isn't a song but Bono and Boy George have already signed up and it's fair to say that I expect the cream of the music industry to sign up. If you want to donate contact me.
