image for Democracy Finally Prevails!!! What can you do for us?

Democracy finally prevails taking down the American dream of a Republic. They started the democratic revolution in the schools by requiring all children attend public education. They required taxes from all citizens to provide this education, your child or not, and in exchange the student learned what the government felt important. They even came up with standardized tests and then started giving schools grades and funding based on the children learning a specific set of information. They no longer taught in order for you to comprehend or understand why. They only required that you memorize data and mindlessly regurgitate it. The masses were taught that they needed an education, but never taught to question what type of education.

They also began to make the elderly dependent on the government. They require that all citizens pay social security promising savings for the future. Money you do not need to pay in to receive, and no guarantee of any benefits being paid out. Medicare and Medicaid came next. They promise "health care" but will not even allow a doctor to take a payment from such a patient to pay for a procedure that the system refuses to pay for itself. They setup HMOs, which restrict the doctors that you can see. They then setup a system to self regulate and to decide what medical procedures are really necessary for you instead of you deciding this for yourself. They began collecting data at birth. You have the right to refuse to give the blood sample, but no one tells you that. They only tell you that the law requires it. They did all of this under the premise that the state should take care of the people, and the people cannot possibly decide for themselves what they need. The masses did not mind because they believed they would receive the benefit, and never really questioned the fact that 10% of the population made up 90% of all medical costs.

Once the people became dependent on the government for every aspect of their lives, and the majority of their incomes were taken in taxes one way or another they felt truly entitled. Passing laws to restrict rights became easy as long as a benefit to the masses accompanied these restrictions. Group mentality began to rein supreme. You stopped looking at people as individuals and only saw them based on the group to which they belonged. The masses starting calling for restrictions on other groups, and these laws passed as long as they were against a group smaller then the one asking for the restriction. True democracy began to take hold and strangle out the very essence of the Republic, until the idea of a Republic finally disappeared as if the United States was always a democracy. In that moment Democracy finally prevailed.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
