Critics Choice

Gordon Brown Isn't a Miserable Old ******* Show: BBC1: 7pm

This program is written and produced by the same team which organised the party political broadcasts for the labour party at the previous two elections. A mixture of comedy and serious political chat, Gordon Brown tries to prove just how merry he can be.

Panorama on Mars: BBC1: 9pm

In this fantastic series finale Jeremy Vine has to work in order to prove that his father did not run an unfair customer care system at the BBC in 1963 and his standards complied with the law, while Richard Dimbelby believes that he must be behind a series of dissatisfied viewers being found dead in Hyde Park.

Friday: BBC1: 10pm

This unusual new series is a modern adaptation of Daniel Defoe's book Robinson Crusoe. It follows the live of a Brazilian man called Jeff who after being kidnapped by a rival plastics firm is dumped on an island in a plane crash, with only one other survivor, a man called Donald. Contains subtle hints towards the original novel while remaining refreshingly modern

Test Card F: BBC1: 1967/1997

If you can travel back in time then you can watch it all night, otherwise just remember, it's forty years old. So there, Wikipedia is good for something.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
