Penny Lane, England-- Paul McCartney has announced his engagement to a longtime friend from Liverpool--Miss Eleanor Rigby. The ex-Beatle will marry the spinster in a simple ceremony in Penny Lane next month. Father Mackenzie will perform the wedding.
Sir Paul says he has been 'very lonely' and Eleanor Rigby is the only one in the world that understands him.
"We both live in a dream." said the stoned Sir Paul. He lit up a joint and explained his love for Eleanor.
"She knows a lot about weddings. She's always in churches, picking up rice from the floor--what is it for??" he asked no one.
"I don't know where she came from, but I know where she belongs--she belongs with me!" said the lovesick stoner.
"And she really didn't die in the church, like my song says." said Sir Paul. He lit another joint and smoked a few hits and smiled.
"Can't wait for the honeymoon either! I will come for her!" he smiled.
