Staving off criticism that his show is lagging in the ratings Piers Morgan did what former host Larry King never attempted last week by interviewing himself.
The show seemed to start strongly enough with Morgan listing his guest's accomplishments despite frequent interruptions, smug comments and superior glances from himself.
Once the actual interview began however Morgan did not let up and allow himself time to speak. He perpetually hogged the limelight and did not allow his guest sufficient space to allow the audience to get to know him in a personal and candid manner.
Clearly upset Morgan finally spoke up against himself "Now let's be clear about this, you have invited me to come here and be your guest, presumably so that your television viewers at home can get to know more about me yet you continue to interrupt me and cast all-knowing looks in my direction preventing me from getting a word in edgewise."
Always ready to rejoin Morgan fired back "You see here, I have not been hired to just sit back and listen like a potted plant, a guest cannot hope to go it alone here without me asking incisive questions that will challenge you and the viewers back home in an informative and entertaining fashion, I would like to inform you that this is not the first successful television show I have been a part of."
The guest raised his eyebrows in a bemused manner to answer the riposte confident that condescending action would win the day.
