HOLLYWOOD - It is official, English comedian Ricky Gervais, who was a big hit at the recent Golden Globes Award Show, has been asked to be a contestant on the upcoming edition of Dancing With The Stars.

Bernadette Penderlicki, the show's executive producer stated that she could not think of another celebrity that she would rather see on DWTS than Mr. Gervais who is noted for his razor sharp comedic barbs as well as for his take-no-prisoners caustic remarks.

She added that for the first time in the shows ten season history they will have a celebrity dancer who after he finishes dancing and hears the judges comments and scores will be able to defend himself against the wrath of the three judges.

Dancing With The Stars judges Len "The Grouchy Grouch" Goodman of England, Bruno "The Gaytalian" Tonioli of Italy, and Carrie Ann "Countess Chopsticks" Inaba of The Philippines stated that they would gladly welcome someone with the excellent 'zinger' credentials that Ricky Gervais has.

Gervais was asked by Bedroom Pillow Talk if he had accepted the offer. He giggled, took a drink of his beer, and said that the normal fee for celebrity contestants is $200,000 but that he had been offered $500,000 so he will most probably take the offer.

He did state that he made several requests. One he wants his professional dance partner to be the unbelievably sexy Edyta Sliwinska.

Two he wants his own dressing room equipped with a fully stocked beer bar. And three he wants his personal DWTS assistant to be one of Hugh Hefner's Playboy mansion bunnies.

Ms. Penderlicki reportedly jumped three feet off the floor with sheer joy and yelled, "Done!"

The show will premier on March 21, and it will be shown in 3D as well as in Smell-O-Vision.

Make Abel Rodriguez's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)
