The National Observatory awarded it highly sought after "Shortest Amount of Time Ever Measured by Science" gold medal to the web site TheSpoof.com today.

The National Observatory, the world's internationally recognized official time keeper and home to the atomic clock, awarded the medal to website based solely on the one-one hundredth billionth of a second between the time a "spoof" writer logs in and the ensuing numerous pop-up advertisements appear.

"Let face it," said Horace Quick, the overpaid under-lord of TheSpoof.com, "this medal was justly deserved and long sought after. I've bloodied the backs of many a programmer to achieve this high honor."

TheSpoof.com, the website of choice for thousand of convicts and insane asylums inmates, publishes fake news articles written by obviously unemployed people from around the world. The site has also long been rumored to be monitored by various nation's military and security apparatus in the believe that the best way to protest society from dangerous people is to "nip it in the bud."

Mr. Quick, for his part, was quoted as saying he would either prominently display the gold medal at his beach house or melt it down to make a payment on his Ferrari.
