image for Liverpool Lose Again - Roy Hodgson Not A Happy Chappie
That's Not Stoke But It'll Do.

Yesterday the footballing giants of the Potteries, Stoke City, brought mighty Liverpool's six match unbeaten run to an ignominious end. (Why write long words like ignominious? You're writing for Liverpool fans. - Ed)

The mighty reds crashed to a 2-0 defeat at the Britannia Stadium.

The opening goal came courtesy of Stoke City striker Ricardo Fuller after the greatest, and most technically accomplished team in the modern game apparently neglected to remember that Stoke City can be a bit dangerous from throw-ins.

Cue long throw in, goal mouth scramble and Fuller poking home past Reina, who apparently wants out anyway.

The gratingly annoying chant from the Liverpool contingent of 'We Won It Five Times' apparently fell on deaf ears as Stoke City added a second from striker Kenwyn Jones, and from that point onwards it was pretty much game over.

Apart from a red card for Lucas for a foul on Etherington, which appeared designed to rub salt into an already gaping wound.

There were calls for Kenny Dalglish to return and saviourise the club from Roy Hodgson's evil clutches by some delusional Scousers in the crowd, but they fell on deaf ears, as another dawn of optimism, and with it the hope of redemption failed to materialise.

The game ended 2-0

"Liverpool? They're a joke," a Stoke City fan laughed as he passed one of our reporters.

We tried to get a post match interview from Roy Hodgson as to why Liverpool have been so crap for so many years now, but we were informed that he'd locked himself in a toilet cubicle and was refusing to come out.

A bit like Jose Mourinho once did when confronted by a Skoob Sports News reporter following Chelsea's defeat in the CL final in Moscow.

More as we get it.
