LOS ANGELES, CA (SN) - Audrina Patridge roamed 'The Hills' and lived the life of high society for six seasons on one of MTV's most successful reality shows to date. Now, Patridge, 25, is having trouble finding work after a successful TV show. The reason? She has been typecast as "Audrina Patridge."
"I've always, like, been an actress first, and, like, 'Audrina Patridge' second," said the startlet from her Hollywood home. Continued Patridge, "I go to castings and the first words that, like, come up from directors are: 'The Hills.'"
"(Directors) see 'Audrina' and, like, think I can only play 'Audrina,' but the thing they don't, like, get is that I have more layers to myself than just 'Audrina,'" said Audrina.
"We thought having her appear on ('Dancing with the Stars') would help people see her more as a real person and less as (Audrina Patridge)," claimed her agent, Steve Pelzeus. Pelzeus offered, "It's been slow going so far, but she is getting some minor TV and movie work; I think she'll have a few deals lined up after ('Dancing with the Stars').
To date, besides her role on 'The Hills' she has also appeared in two Direct-to-DVD movies, two supporting roles in wide release movies, and some guest appearances on television. Later in 2011, Patridge is set to start in the MTV reality series, 'The Audrina Show'.
