Los Angeles, CA - Simon Cowell has said publicly that he was thankful beyond words to Ian Bernardo, a past American Idol reject, for grabbing the microphone from in front of Comedian Dane Cook and shouting "this is my Kanye West moment."
"Thank God he came along when he did," said Cowell. "I was honestly getting ready to just get up and go out back and have a smoke, it was that god awful."
Cook apparently didn't think he was doing so poorly, even though he seemed to be the only one laughing at his hideous jokes, which were interspersed between quoting some of the ruder comments attributed to Cowell during auditions of past Idol seasons.
Said Randy Jackson, "Dawg, it was unbelievable how that Cook dude just got dissed by a nobody. I mean, man, I would have paid to see that again. I'm sorry, man, but Dane should be thanking loser dude for saving his ass, is all I gotta say. It was da bomb."
Jackson may get his wish. After the show, Cook wrote on his Twitter page about the weirdo who hijacked his show. After reading it, Bernardo is said to have thrown the gauntlet down and offered to kick Cook's ass.
We can only assume that Ian Bernardo, the Weirdo who stole Dane Cook's thunder, will have his 15 minutes of fame and become as pseudo popular as say Bruno, aka Sacha Baron Cohen. In fact, we'd be surprised if we didn't see something come along soon in the way of a reality television show for this very talented tribute hijacker. Perhaps he could have the "Pants on the Ground" singer co-star.
