It was late Friday night when a knock on the front door woke Shaggy and Velma Rodgers. To their shock and delight, it was Fred Jones, the other surviving member of Mystery Inc. Scooby Doo was called and the remainimg members sat up the rest of the night talking about everything that has happened to all of them.

Fred, as it is well known, went to Wisconsin to join the Friends of Jesus, a very strange variation of Christianity. He has lived in their compound for the past fourteen months, and had no contact with the outside world. He was not a high enough ranking member of the group to be allowed to speak to outsiders. Fred did not know about Daphne's death until the night he arrived on Shaggy's stoop.

Fred has thus far refused to give details on how life in the compound was, what the rules and regulations were or what, if anything, they put him through, but has, apparently, told Shaggy, Velma and Scooby. He has sworn them to secrecy, as this reporter was personally told by Shaggy.

Fred was terribly distraught by the news of Daphne's death, thrilled with happiness for Shaggy and Velma and not strongly affected one way or another by the death of Scrappy.

Fred Jones will be staying with Shaggy and Velma in the room formerly occupied by Velma before her marriage to Shaggy (Apparently they were old fashioned enough to not share a bed until they were married, but still wanted to share a home.) until he is employed and able to afford his own place. According to Shaggy, Velma has extended an invitation to Fred for as long as he wanted to stay there, the same offer she has made to Scooby Doo and had made to Daphne. Velma has always been known to love her friends as family.

"Velma is, like, always ready for one of the gang to stay here. That means the old Mystery Inc gang, our new friends, or any of our family members. I think we're going to need a bigger house someday, because she'll have everyone living with us. It's really, like, groovy that she's so open to help people. I'm a lucky man to have her in my life and, like, incredibly lucky to have her as my wife." Shaggy told this reporter with a warm smile on his face. "I hope Freddy can get back into his groove. Some of what those people did to himÂ…It was, like, really not good."
