Heart-melting: Macca's statue flopped in the heat

New Delhi, India - (Revolver): "First Macca's eyebrows started falling off," Sanilav Chowdery told reporters.

"Then his face turned a squidgy goo, oozing at the eyeballs and detumescing onto Ringo's shoulder."

The promoter was describing the effects on the waxworks of last week's searing heat which began melting the statues at a shopping mall promo.

The music exhibits were on display as part of ex-Beatles drummer Peter Best's concert promoting Imagine Liverpool.

The 67 year-old musician himself didn't escape lightly, complaining that he'd spent most of the night on the bog after a particularly virulent dose of curried ladies fingers got up his bhindi bhaji.

The gutripper bogey struck at 1 am of Best's second night of performing at the week-long cultural (sic) extravaganza in a downtown Dehli shopping mall.

Maxwell's Silver Hammer has long been considered one of the finest pieces ever written by Paul McCartney, and on a par with Mull of Kintyre.
