A disturbing new fashion trend has developed on both sides of the Atlantic recently, and it's really getting a lot of people hot under the collar for a variety of reasons.
Big bushy tramp beards.
US actor Jim Carrey showed up at the London premier of 'A Christmas Carol' sporting a beard big enough to hide a five course meal in, and looking like he'd just emerged from underneath a railroad bridge.
Ex Police frontman and environmentalist, Sting, appeared on British daytime TV yesterday showing ace gardener Alan Titchmarsh a big ginger profusion of facial beard wardrobe, and looking like he was all set to retrieve a discarded, half eaten McDonald's from a rubbish bin.

So what is it with the beardy look?
Brad Pitt's done it, George Clooney's done it, Tom Cruise has done it.
Hefty McGurk, of the Institute Of Out Of Control Beard Growth told us:
"Some stars have always sported beards. Like Billy Connolly, Ricky Gervais, Noel Edmonds, Brian Blessed, and I'm pretty certain that they won't be too happy about these relative upstarts jumping on the beardy bandwagon.
"This whole thing started out innocuously enough as 'designer stubble' as sported by 80's pop stars like George Michael. It then spread to football, with people like Ryan Giggs doing TV interviws sporting three day's growth. Actors then caught on and started appearing unshaven on chat shows. Now it's spiralled out of control with some of the most shocking beards in history being proudly paraded across the world's media. Most of them are utterly horrible."
It's interesting that so many men are sprouting facial hair at a time when so many women are having their short and curlies Brazilian waxed.
