image for Michael Jackson's Glove, Magic Shoes To Be Auctioned

The one and only glittery glove worn by Michael Jackson and his magic shoes that he first wore while doing his first moonwalk back in 1983, will be auctioned for charity at the November 21 "Music Icons" at "The Hard Rock Cafe" in New York City's Times Square, according to their present owner, Walter "Clyde" Orange, a founding member of the Commodores.

The auction will also have unreleased Jimi Hendrix lyrics and an early Madonna demo tape.

Orange stated that he had received the glove from Jackson after his performance on stage of "Billie Jean" and was apparently the first time he had done his moonwalk on stage.

Orange says he first knew Jackson when Jackson was a kid with his brothers as The Jackson Five and always kidded Michael that he wanted his autograph.

Then, right after the big "Motown's 25th Anniversary TV Special, once again he asked Michael for his autograph which Orange said was "a running joke" between them.

That's when Jackson laughed and gave him the glove he was wearing and pulled off his magic shoes.

"This glove needs to be in a special place for music history", Orange reportedly told the people doing the auction. "And who wouldn't want to be able to moonwalk in these shoes? I've about worn myself out in them but they look new."

"Now I'd like to see some millionaire two-left-feet-type put them on and turn on the music. All you have to do is listen to the beat for about 30 seconds and then click their heels together three times and say, "I wish I was walking on the moon!"
