Sugarland, CA - In a shocking turn of events, Tina Li and Alan Chen from Nixon High School were spotted chatting amicably for several minutes at their high school's dance last Friday. Multiple reports indicate that their conversation covered a broad variety of topics, ranging from the science test in three days to upcoming SATs.

"They would be so adorable together!" gushes Emily Zhang, close friend of Tina's. "Everyone else was standing around awkwardly in a giant circle as usual, but Alan and Tina looked so comfortable talking with each other," Ms. Zhang adds.

"Maybe he'll finally stop beating my DDR scores every Friday night," says Justin Wang, whose parents have been friends with Alan's parents for fifteen years.

But not everyone at Nixon High is pleased with this new development. Jennifer Chang*, for one, has a master plan set in motion already. "Al won't be talking to Tina much longer after we get our APUSH tests back next Thursday," she assures on her Facebook Notes application. "I definitely scored higher than she did."

"My son should be studying for his biology quiz on Wednesday, not talking to girls," says Jonathan Chen, Alan's father. "We have taught him to avoid such nonsense since he turned three three," Mr. Chen adds.

Whatever results from this newly formed triangle of amplified teenage emotions, Nixon High is waiting with bated breath.

"I'll be checking my Facebook news feed every hour," assures Kyle Hong, the last boy seen talking with Tina.

Neither Ms. Li nor Mr. Chen were available for comment.
