image for J.K. Rowling Sued By Harry Potter Actors For Breach of Contract
Do you want them to continue to grow up?

Actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson have sued writer J.K. Rowling for breach of contract. The three, stars of the five Harry Potter movies, claim that their acting careers will likely end in two or three years after the last book is filmed. Rowling claims that the series is finished and she is through with the characters.

Emma Watson declined to be interviewed, but did release the following statement: "I've never done another role in any movie or television show. My career as an actress has been as Hermione Granger. Having read the next two books, I see that I never get to have a major love scene, I never get to have a nude scene, and I just continue to be a sidekick. Then, the books end and I am supposed to ride off happily into the sunset! I don't think so!"

"I think that in movies 8, 9, 10, and 11, we are all at a university. Then, in the next few books, we'll all be starting jobs and families. I see a movie every eighteen months to two years for the rest of our natural lives."

Gerrold Graves, owner and operator of the "Hermione Watch: When Will Emma Turn 18" website agrees. I've been waiting since the first movie, and so have a lot of my sites users, for this girl to turn legal so we could see some skin. The last movie ends with her being only 17 and that is not fair. Rowling can't do that to us."

Radcliffe, who already showed some skin in a stage production of Equus, is upset also. "I want the money. This job pays me a lot and I've got a lifestyle to keep up. Girls are always wanting to see and touch my scar and I can't afford to let this gig end."

Rupert Gint, who plays Ron Weasley, is another unhappy actor. "Everyone has already pigeonholed me as Ron, so I need that role to keep acting. It's like some of those actors who get identified with a role and never work again anywhere else. Besides, I'm not a very good actor and have only two facial expressions; there's only room in Hollywood for one Matthew Broderick."
