New York - Documents lodged with the Westchester County District Attorney's Office show a 'temporarily insane' plea bargain is being considered by the human frights lawyer whose drug driving case begin this Monday.
Kerry Kennedy is charged with vehicle abandonment and driving under the influence on the morning of 13 July 2012 when she inexplicably crashed into the back of a tractor trailer in a suburban New York highway.
Chemical analysis subsequently revealed the blonde was intoxicated with an Ambien sleeping pill which she says she ingested by mistake instead of her usual thyroid tab.
However a witness has recently crawled out of the woodwork claiming daft Kerry 'was barking' when he saw her emerge from the wreckage of her Lexus Chardonnay at half past seven in the morning New York time.
Lawyers for Robert F Kennedy's 69 year old daughter have always insisted she has all her marbles and would never plead insanity regardless of the circumstance of a case.
"An insanity plea could seriously jeopardize Kerry's eco-nutter credentials," a spokesperson for Ecuador's Amazonbotch campaign for whom Kennedy is a goodwill ambassador, commented.
"She should just fess up and take the slap-on-the-wrist $50,000 fine just like her lawyers have ordered."
