The Bong Goodbye could be a classic

Denver, Colorado - The 1953 drama has been given a modern day twist by Denver's newly formed theatrical troupe, the Pothead Players, who will perform their own take on Chandler's famous classic from Valentine's Day next month.

Adapted for the stage by talented local thespian Dave Skank the play is set to include plenty of Rastafarian-style weed talk in scenes featuring private investigator Philip Marlowe's trawl of private drug rehabilitation clinics.

A new 21st century timeline will see Marlowe search for a client's missing husband in detox wards bursting at the seams with remorseless Colorado dope heads, some wishing they had never voted YES for the state's newly liberalized cannabis laws.

Early reviews say the play's secondary theme takes a druggy look at what caused a decent and moral man to be cast adrift in a marijuana-obsessed society where spiffs can be smoked with impunity regardless of serious consequences - such as getting the munchies or making a big, fat twat of oneself in pubic.

The show is set to run for a full season at Denver's newly refurbished municipal theater sponsored by the Colorado Cannabis Growers Association Pension Fund.

Tickets, priced from $25 upwards, are available elsewhere on this site.
