Adam's Car

Adam Salvage, star of the hit TV series Mythbreakers has landed up in intensive care after a stunt went horribly wrong. His condition is described as "comfortable".

His co-star Jamie Hiney-man said, "Adam wanted to try the stunt instead of using Chuck, our crash test dummy."

The stunt involved proving the myth that you can jump out of a moving car and roll to safety. Adam had just failed to break the "Beat the Breathalyzer Myth", and was still under the influence when he decided to take matters into his own hands.

The car was aimed at a brick wall to stop it going out of control after Adam had ejected himself. Mats were placed alongside the vehicle to land on. Instead of the agreed speed of 30 mph, Adam took the car up to 60 mph. This meant, of course, that he would not have much time to get free of the car. He jumped out too late and smashed into the wall. When the car hit the wall on the left headlight, the back of the car swung out to the left, and crushed him in a "Death Sandwich", as Jamie put it. The car also exploded, becoming a fireball.

Jamie remarked, "I still think that Adam will want to confirm the myth at a more normal speed. You see, the kinetic energy of a crash quadruples if you double the speed. In other words, you have to be four times the idiot to drive twice as fast."

He added, "I've got some ideas I want to run through with Adam while he is in hospital. There's that myth about surgical instruments being left in patients and not being discovered."

Make David Grant's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
