image for Total Wipeout Unrewarded - TV Repair Man Warns BAFTA
A major component of Total Wipeout.

A shadowy vigilante organisation has issued a warning to the voters at the British Academy of Film & Television ahead of their awards show on Sunday.

TV Repair Man, the underground group pledged to ridding TV schedules of reality shows and rubbish daytime programmes, has expressed anger at the failure of the BBC show Total Wipeout to pick up any prizes so far during this year's awards season.

A communiqué from the organisation reads: "As the academy gears up for its Film Awards on Sunday, we would recommend they take a serious look at how they intend to vote for their TV Awards to be held in May.

"That such quality programminng as Total Wipeout and its presenters Richard Hammond and Amanda Byram have been overlooked thus far is outrageous. It is a slap in the face for everyone concerned with television excellence."

Wipeout failed to figure in either the Broadcast Awards or the National Television Awards earlier this month.

Dynamo: Magician Impossible won the Broadcast accolade for best entertainment programme while the NTA gong for the same category went to Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow.

"If similar voting trends are repeated in May, there will be repercussions," the statement added.
