image for Michel Roux Jr Accused Of Over-Egging The Pudding

TV chef Michel Roux Jr has been labelled "over-privileged and insensitive" after his latest TV show on Friday.

The double Michelin-starred chef appeared on Masterchef: The Professionals - Michel's Classics preparing "sumptuous dishes close to his heart."

His main course was a chicken cooked with truffles in a pig's bladder, while the starter, a comsomme, featured gold leaf and caviar.

And while preparing a pig's trotter he told the audience: "To me this is what comfort food is all about."

The BBC's phone lines were inundated with a complaint after the show. Mr Lionel Sprue, of Glass Houghton, West Yorkshire, said: "What a bloody cheek!

"He had the nerve to stand there and tell us that he grew up with this kind of food! Truffles? Gold leaf? Bloody caviar?

"Well of course, if you're the son of a world-famous, rich-as-Croesus chef, you can eat all that stuff every day. But the rest of us... doesn't the over-privileged insensitive bastard know there's a credit crunch on? Git!"

A BBC spokesman refused to comment.*

*(We didn't actually call... it was late and we couldn't be arsed.)

Make Ellis Ian Fields's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
