(Published 2030) LONDON (CO-SPONSORED BY MICROSOFT. MICROSOFT, LIFE WITHOUT WALLS) - The new government, consisting of various transnationals, have allowed public spending to increase due to the effect of product placements and ads plastered across public buildings.

Birmingham, proudly presented by Wrigley's Extra, PepsiCo, and Unilever, is the first city to be entered in the scheme, which is funded by Sony Europe, Google and Vodafone UK.

The city has a £2bn shortfall from the Great Money Crash of 2008, and the new bill called the ASDA, Apple, Goodyear and HP Presents the Public Ads Act, will be effective on the city tomorrow.

What have some public sector workers thought?

"It's terrible!" said Richard Disney Walters, "Why...? Why...? Look! I'm sponsored by Lehman's Brothers!"

What do companies stand to gain from this?

"Well, we tried doing that thing where we beamed ads into people's heads while they were sleeping and awake," said a Britainico spokeman, who said that cool, nameless spokesmen should drink Budweiser, "but because of the European States and Britainico Decree #34, it was invasion of privacy. So, these things are cool. When everyone sees that the library are supported by the crisp driving experience of a Ford Focus, they'll be happy."

Many have stated the stupidity of it all, saying that the ads are in the wrong place.

(Future News: Public Spending to Be Supplemented With Ads, Product Placement will back after these messages:

Remember... buy from Best Buy City! Just off the M6 J4! All the electronics you'll need in one handy commerica-town!)

"I saw an ad for Seat [car company] with the tagline 'Drive of your life' near a graveyard. That would be more apt outside of a state-funded university club or something."

The Britainico government, which isn't just a government, and is in fact, an Marks & Spencers government, have decided to allow a new bank holiday, 'Spendover' to occur, where everyone celebrates the joyous comfort of the government by buying from any of its associate partners.
