MILWAUKEE - The state of Wisconsin regrets to have to announce that it will be closing down three cheese factories within the next four weeks.
The cheese factories are located in Milwaukee, Green Bay, and Oshkosh.
A representative for the state stated that the fact that Wisconsin has been importing cheese from Costa Rica and Guatemala has really hurt the state's cheese factories.
At present there are over 9,000 cheese factories located throughout the state but cheese company CEO's warn that if the state keeps importing the low priced cheese from south of the border as many as 1,315 cheese factories could shut down by Labor Day (September).
Long time cheese worker Tyrus Bunsen, 57, who works at the Green Bay factory remarked that the Costa Rican cheese and the Guatemalan cheese is not as good as Wisconsin cheese except for the fact that it contains 50 percent less calories, no carbs, no sodium, no cholesterol, and no cheesy smell.
