Athens, Greece-- The economic situation in Greece is now so bad that the country has decided to leave Europe. Giant buzz saws have been placed on the borders of Greece and orders have been given to drill down 100 miles. Greece plans to detach itself from the continent and float out into the Atlantic Ocean.
Greece expects lots of turmoil in its break from Europe. Massive earthquakes are expected once it tears itself away from the Balkan Peninsula. The nation is also expecting plenty of problems when it tries to squeeze through the Straits of Gibraltar on its way to the Atlantic Ocean. Once it is in the Atlantic, Greece plans to attach itself to either North or South America.
Other European countries are watching Greece with great interest, and they may decide to follow its lead. Ireland, Portugal and Spain should have a relatively simple time detaching themselves from Europe and floating away.
Although Greece's situation may seem extreme, it's not that unusual. Many, many years ago Atlantis broke away from Europe during an economic crisis, but unfortunately it sank. The Greeks are hoping for better luck.
"Extreme problems call for extreme solutions." said one Greek citizen. "Europe will miss us when we are gone."
