Many moons ago, the Electricity Board layed electricty lines to a remote Irish village.
When it came to the bills at the end of the first quarter, an old biddy, bless, had only rung up one unit of electricity in 3 months. They were a bit weary. Next quarter, again only one unit of electricity used. Engineers went out to check her meter. Everything seemed OK. At the 3rd quarter, she had again only used 1 unit of electricity.
Then they found the answer. When it got dark, the dear old biddy was switching on the light; finding the candles; then switching the light off again!
