When I first moved to California, I took the winter coat I had brought with me and worn the long, winter drive to the Sunshine State. Once I got to San Francisco, I took the coat to a cleaners to have it cleaned. Because of the generally warm weather in San Francisco, I never gave it another thought until about two years later when a friend invited me to a night game at Candlestick Park, which can get quite polar. I then remembered my winter coat, and panicked when I realized how long it had been since I took it in. I finally found the tag, then went down to the Dry Cleaner's and handed it to the attendant, saying, "I hope you still have it!"
The guy came back in an agonizingly long time and said, "Yes, we still have it!" And then after a pause, he said, "It'll be ready next Tuesday."
