It was an chilly day at Valley Forge and General Washington was trying to find warm residence for his men for the night. He approached a house and asked if they could put up a trooper. "We have only room for one."

"I will leave you Peters. He is the smallest of our group."

The only other house close by was a brothel.

Washington knocked on the door and a lady answered it.

"Mam, we are fighting for our independence. We need a place of warmth for my troops to sleep."

"Sir, this is a brothel. We have plenty of beds but.."

"Great. Can you house 40 men, we are without Peters."

"Oh. I see. Yes we can put them up for the night."

A part of the Revolutionary War you seldom heard at school, restored.
