The AA got an emergency call-out today from the Queen whose luxury motorised home became stuck in a muddy ditch on the royal estate in Sandringham.

Mechanics struggled for over one hour to get it moving using a variety of vehicle recovery tricks but it remained resolutely jammed in the Norfolk mire.

In the end they decided to deploy a couple of heavy-duty two-tonne trolley jacks to raise the front to help tow it out of the ditch.

But the vehicle was still way too cumbersome and heavy to be lifted properly into position.

"Why can't you get it unstuck, chaps?" the exasperated Queen demanded.

"It's the sheer weight of it, Ma'am," one of the mechanics answered, "we need to lose a bit of tonnage to get the damn thing safely out."

"Hmm," HM replied, "I think I've got an idea," before entering the luxurious Airstream and heading straight for its ensuite lav and pulling the chain."

Immediately recovery truck's winch was able to hoist the customised mobile home out of the mess and back onto the motorway hard shoulder....

Which just goes to show that a royal flush sure beats a pair of jacks.
