"No man is an island!". I guess John Donne meant that human beings do not thrive when they spend all their time alone without company. It's a basic concept that many have adopted and even inspired a hit song by Simon & Garfunkle. back in the sixties.
However, John Donne never saw my big white belly in the middle of a hot tub.
