Dear Spoof,

This whole modern Mayan Debacle started with the Beatles and Paul McCartney penning "The End" on Abbey Road. Then of course you know Yoko was actually a Mayan high priestess in a former life and symbolically she ended the Beatles. But of course it was really Ringo's ring in HELP that lead to the largest stir of Mayan calender frenzy among a small Druid set of fans from Ireland. Carry on. Oh and I'm also announcing that after my final magazine article in my series Born To Spoof, I shall be retiring from this website. Nothing personal, but as Skoob has expressed, its no fun here anymore and a friend of mine has had their feelings hurt. So really who needs it, but I'm going to finish doing something that use to give me great enjoyment here and leave on a positive note. Thank you. God bless us every one!

Dear Spoof:

It seems that some of the The Spoof writers may have been on to something about stories involving sex, sexual organs and boobs. These folks were ridiculed as not being literary giants! Well, the world media are now covering the current Democratic Obama administration sex and national security scandals.

We here at the White House are hoping for a return to the good old days of Republican administration money scandals to keep Democratic administration fooling around off the front page and off the 24 hour TV news services!

Remembrance Day is always a solemn day for me cuz it's my birthday as well.

Me grandad was a desert rat during the second world war. He wasn't in the army, he just used to wander through the desert dressed as a rat.

Seriously though. Truly a day to remember those who have given their lives to protect our freedom.

Thanks Everybody:

We survived OK where we live in the Baltimore Maryland metropolitan area. We have power, but fallen trees, limbs, leaves, other junk, etc all over the roads.

However, it is a worse mess in other parts of the state of Maryland, bridges closed, flooding, trees down, snow and power loss.

The states of New York, New Jersey, Delaware, West Virginia and Virginia etc got hit very hard. All of the preceding weather related events including very bad flooding in low lying places. The various state emergency management organizations seem to be functioning.

Coastal areas in the states mentioned were hard hit. New York City had lots of flooding, including river crossing tunnels and the subways (underground).

Thanks/kudos go out to the Emergency crews/first responders who are out there helping people. Cleanup and return to normal (schools reopen, public transportation available, people going to work) is going to take some time.

The storm which is both part hurricane and part Noreaster is moving further west.

Hope this isn't redundant with what you have seen on your local TV.

Dear Spoof:

The holidays are fast approaching and with them the annual The Spoof Christmas party. Last year an anonymous someone, unnoticed, put Viagra in the Christmas punch. Our research indicates that it had no effect, as the birthrate among The Spoof writers is down. Further research has determined that the Viagra was bogus, coming from a Canadian pharmacy or that the male writers are gay!

This office recommends that all Spoof writers (male and female) that attended last years Christmas party report to the National Health Service (NHS) offices in London for a complete physical examination. For writers living abroad, travel costs are your responsibility.

Thank you,
