Extract from Story:
Celtic football club has vociferously denied that its players are bored of football now that Rangers have gone to play in the Nether regions of Scottish football. But an insider has tonight revealed that this is not true. Archie McTaggart, chief goal scorer for Celtic, said. "There's no competition anymore. We got a draw at Hibernian today, but that's not the same as a draw against rangers.....

Its not fair to say that scottish football was always boring - think of the entertainment (and spoofing opportunities) when they lost to Costa Rica, Monserrat and Iran, plus the exciting 0-0 draw with Estonia, when Estonia never turned up.

And that great team of the 80s - Hansen, Dalglish, Souness.
Hang on, I may be confusing scotland with Liverpool...

5 for the story Kat!

You took me quite by surprise with that remark Jag.

United and Celtic have a long standing affinity, mainly due to a similar history, and similar roots.

I've seen Celtic at Old Trafford, and the banter between the fans was superb. Handshakes and smiles all round, beers bought and salutations made. The best bunch of away fans I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. And the loudest.

Not forgetting the Lions Of Lisbon back in 67.

Fond Memories, and hopefully a lasting kinship.

Skoob.

Please do not misinterpret my comment; it was not suppose to be negative towards Celtic fans; it was just a joke about the Welsh and Scottish leagues being so awful.

I watched Celtic win the European Cup with tears in my eyes whilst living in Berlin; one of the nicest moments in my time in the great city because the Germans were so superior and wee Celtic proved them wrong! The red-headed devil Jimmy Johnstone if I remember did all the damage (and I didn't wiki that one either)!
