My dual processor, dual core G5 MacGigaBlytz just blows the doors off everything else in town. 'Course 'town' here IS sorta itty-bitty.

I have both a Mac and a PC. But I use my PC mostly because...because...because I have been brainwashed by Microsoft and the mass media into believing I'm doing the right thing. There, I said it!

YEAH, well my new Macgigablitz duz 'em both! No kidding. Runs either as a Mac, or as a PC - if you should miss all the crashes, viruses and stuff inherent in the PC world for some reason.

The new models will boot either way if you've loaded the right apps. The only time I run as a PC is when there's some app or the other which demands it. But most of the time I run fast & smooth on the Mac OSX - no problems at all, ever.

I know that there are many people stuck in the PC world - I was too until I got my first little IMac about 7 years ago (because I finally got fed up with all my PC's crashes & lost data). Macs seem to confuse PC folks (they did me too) because they can't believe they run so simply, easy and intuitively and so they keep trying to run all those complicated extra steps on 'em like a PC seems to need.

Well, maybe I can put it this way: I HATED computers before I got a Mac. Now, I'm OK with 'em. I don't know what that says exactly, but I almost LIKE computers now. Working on it.

To answer the original question, my computer is not on a platform. It is on my desk in my office (extra bedroom).

My computer at work is also on a desk. I think most of us keep them there.

Greg Louganis and the other olympic divers might keep theirs on a platform (or maybe a diving board), but I'm sure that the rest of us don't.

Amen to that - and maybe a platform all Pennieman's own too! I've been on platforms a few times myself, but usually after a while I sobered up enough to go on home to bed, especially when it was raining or snowing - and there was that time my platform caught fire . . . . .

The President had a platform too, but I wouldn't put something as expensive as a computer on it. The platforms that politicians use are about as stable as a two legged stools and have more holes than all of the Britney stories.
