I hope all our American writing colleagues, friends and readers are ok. My cousins flight to Washington was cancelled sunday night, each tv and radio report looks to be worse than the previous one.

Thanks Everybody:

We survived OK where we live in the Baltimore Maryland metropolitan area. We have power, but fallen trees, limbs, leaves, other junk, etc all over the roads.

However, it is a worse mess in other parts of the state of Maryland, bridges closed, flooding, trees down, snow and power loss.

The states of New York, New Jersey, Delaware, West Virginia and Virginia etc got hit very hard. All of the preceding weather related events including very bad flooding in low lying places. The various state emergency management organizations seem to be functioning.

Coastal areas in the states mentioned were hard hit. New York City had lots of flooding, including river crossing tunnels and the subways (underground).

Thanks/kudos go out to the Emergency crews/first responders who are out there helping people. Cleanup and return to normal (schools reopen, public transportation available, people going to work) is going to take some time.

The storm which is both part hurricane and part Noreaster is moving further west.

Hope this isn't redundant with what you have seen on your local TV.

Here, just south of PofM, we have 40" of fresh, wet snow and the leaves are still on the trees. Trees are falling everywhere and flooding next week may be the worse in the hollows and river bottoms since 1985.

Power is out throughout WV, VA, MY and DE and really bad in NYC and NJ. We have a gennie here and are warm, but God help the old folks in the cities that are very cold and without power.

If you can spare a few bucks, give to the Red Cross, Salvation Army or Mennonite Disaster Services. This storm is far worse than most can imagine because people think only of coastal areas being impacted--like Florida or, of course, New Orleans where thousands died. Unlike those areas, this disaster is so wide spread it may affect the economy of the entire region for many years to come.

There once was a girl named Sandy
Who guys use to say was handy
For a bottle of wine
She'd give a good time
And everyone felt just dandy

We're fine with a gennie running, hot water and heat. Full larder too, almost of Mormon proportions.

I posted three stories to whack Romney. They have NO DIRTY WORDS, charpacabra. For you!

Kisses to my Florida honey bunny and her old man (not in a gay way).

C'mon now Frank...

Didja think I wouldn't read them? Liked the zombie one best. The one with Huckabee, I kept track, you said hell, pissed and damned, although I'll let the hell one slide as it was, after all, about going to hell.

Ya made me smile today. Rare feat these days. So thank you.
