I particularly like the one opposite the away terrace at Rochdale FC *. Best mushy peas in t'north of England.
R'DOG * Shame they were relegated last year. |

Of course your Northerners will always tell you that the best chippies are in poxy Tyneside or similar and to be fair they've got some tidy old chish and fips shops up there but you'll know yourself RG that there's shedloads of blinding chippies dotted round the East End, mainly run by bubble and squeaks or the odd tiddlywink.
I'll always maintain thought that the best plate of cod and chips I ever had was from a tiny little gaff in Lowestoft in Norfolk called The Tide's Reach Fish Bar. Lovely golden, crispy batter round succulent flaky white cod with chips so beautiful I used to take one to bed and shag it hahaha Food of the gods along with pie and mash with liquor (parsley sauce) and jellied eels. Christ I'm bloody starving now and I've just hoovered up 4 Weetabix too! hehehe |

In the East End we do indeed have our fair share.
My aunt and uncle used to travel from Ilford to one in Dalston, quite well known, but I'm not sure of the name. And there is a very good one in Grove Road inbetween Mile End and Roman Road. R'DOG |

There's a chippy in Edinburgh called "The Codfather."

There is one in Wapping with a similar codfather type name.
I used to love eating from the one in Edinburgh High St near to the fringe office, and one year when my friend was up as well I told him you gotta try the chippy, you gotta try the chippy. Come chucking out time, we were in there, a drunk scot came in, bag of chips and saveloy in hand, threw the saveloy on the floor and slurred in a heavy scot accent "Tik tha' bak" (translated = take That piece of substandard food Back because I am not completely happy with it) |

Jolly Fisheries on Orchard Park (run by a couple of Chinese guys) and the absolutely brilliant All Electric Fisheries on Beverley Road, are probably Hull's best.

Best fish and chips I ever had were from a Greek owned chippy opposite Brighton Pier. Lovely!

Nana Mouskouri (is that how we spell it?) used to serve me chips in her family run shop in Fulham Cross. Nice chips.
