Poor bloke has had to take a $5 million pay cut down to $20 mill.
Can we start a collection from all spoof writers. I'm sure he'd appreciate the gesture from fellow comics and writers. Skoob can drop the collection off on his next vacation to the big app. I've got a half-eaten sandwich from last Friday to start us off. Please give generously to one of our own... |

Ha....
From someone who hasn't had a pay raise in 3 years or a cost of living increase in 20, I'll skip on donating money to a man who needs no more of it. Ellie |

| Oh. They've encased him in Carbonite. He should be quite well protected. If he survived the freezing process, that is. | |||

Please read article carefully, as Jay Leno is voluntarily slashing his own salary to try and save other staffers' jobs!

What a good cause.
Sadly I am impoverished. However, I have been planning a major fraud recently so if it comes off I'll gladly bung Leno a few quid. I really feel for him. It must cost a fortune to feed that chin of his and run all those bloody cars he's got. So sad. |

I sympathise with him Philbert.
I too employ dozens of staffers to keep the Shuttlecock bandwagon creaking along. Costs me a fortune, it does. I've had to cut back on the caviar and the Bollinger in order to keep my juggernaut operation afloat. Why, only the other day, I had a ghost writer complaining about job security. I saw right through him of course. Regards Skoob ![]() |

Skoob:
I don't necessarily sympathise with Leno or envy him. He worked hard to get from stand-up comedy to the Johny Carson show and then to his own Tonight show. It just seems Obamaitus (class warfare and leaving out relevent facts) is catching when somebody has done very well economically! PoM

What's so sad is that his cut in his own pay won't seem to save the job cuts on his staff.
=I actually admire Jay Leno for the fact that, all in all, he is a sensible guy financially. From what I've read about him in the past he lives on money from his stand up. Live stand up. Not tv. He puts al his tv money into savings. At this point, he could stop getting pay checks from all his ventures and be very wealthy for the rest of his life. I always thought that was a smart thing because if he ever lost his tv job, then he'd still be set. I still don't respect what he did to Conan....but that's a different story. Ellie |

No objection whatsoever to people doing well for themselves and their families Phil.
Unless they're bankers or legal eagles. From where I'm sitting, Obama seems to take a hell of a lot of flak for something which had its roots firmly embedded in the previous administration. It was greed which drove the US sub-prime mortgage market, which attracted global investment in the hope of colossal profits, and then it all went tits up because the mortgages were unrealistic and unrepayable. Happened on Bush's watch if memory serves. That's mainly why we're all in this mess. Still, I can't complain. ![]() Regards as ever mate Skoob. |

Gotta admire ANYONE who worked their way up through the clubs like Leno/Letterman/Seinfeld, Larry David, SNL cast, Russell Brand etc etc. I could go on for pages.
I don't know a lot about US tv schedules (the Conan & Leno shows I watched were in Turkey) but moving Leno to to a new Primetime slot when Conan took the pre-agreed seemed bizarre. At least Conan came out of the fiasco with his pride, a decent pay-off and a chance to go back out on the road with his stand-up tour, and lots of material about NBC! |

I read it correctly the first time, of course he's doing a good thing in cutting his salary to help his staff. Of course he can afford it, he's been earning that sort of money for around 10 years now? Personally, I'd do the show for a Million - and expenses of course ![]() |

Heads up from America, Jay broadcasts out of NBC Burbank Ca. That's 3000 miles or 4828 kilometers from the big app. Just saying. Would not want to see Jay's broke fund sent to the wrong place. BEF vagina |

Leave me out of it, thanks guys.
I was only responding to Philbert. Seems I get dragged into an awful lot of discussions lately when I haven't said a word, or I'm not even here. Thanks Skoob. |

Fairplay. It might be delivered to Letterman accidentally. I'm sure he'd pass it on as they're such good friends.
