I have always thought that slathering meant "to lay something on thick." My dad slathers butter on his toast. Never knew why. Gross!

And, yes, I can assure people that Skoob is a good guy. He has always had a kind heart towards me and the stuff I have going on healthwise.

We have all seen fantastic writing on this site, and I've always said that several of our writers could go mano a mano with someone from The Onion and come out on top. I think Skoob sees that as well, and sees The Spoof as some place special.

That said, I don't know where the anomisity between the two of you originates from, but please just ignore each other or sort it out via PMs and maybe (hopefully) you'll realize it's all a misunderstanding.

What I particularly value about this thread is the opening gambit and Page One in its entirety.

Sorry about that. It's so embarrassing to vomit in public. Anyway, I know I really shouldn't mention this because it's so petty. But sod it. Ban me if you like. I've just read it again and felt more than a minor twitch coming on. So hey - today's Friday.

Whilst all this vitally important moderating business was going on. Whilst many were diverted by perceived acrimony. And a few were busily filling-in their application forms - outlining their moderate credentials. And whilst some were having a jolly fine time flirting with one of the most clever and infamous trolls who ever graced the Spoof (we spotted him Day One and dealt with him accordingly) - there was another extremely minor and utterly irrelevant social event going on. An event which seemingly and quite naturally evaded almost everyone's attention.

To wit, our dear chum and seriously falling apart colleague, Inchcock, fell foul of a serious Spoof offence - and got himself banned.

Alas, due to his medications, dear Inchcock was unable to comprehend the depths of his terrible offence. So the Coal Hole Mob made representations on his behalf - and eventually helped to secure his Restoration.

So may I take this opportunity to mention the guys :  Skoob1999, Pinxit, Clivey AKA Maggot, Ellis, Sid...  and any other Spoofers who may have anonymously joined us. And particularly Lynton who lead our campaign with his usual tact and sensitivity.

I write this only to recognise these stalwarts...

And because nobody else will!!!!

Thank you, C.J. for letting me, and others know. What a shame these things have to happen. I am indebted to everyone that had me reinstated after my ban. I am glad they were able to do the same for one of the funniest people to appear on this forum.

Sadly I knew nothing whatsoever about "The Inch Man" and how the hell could anybody ban such a nice guy who suffers with his health. I hope he is welcomed back with open arms because I like this guy a lot.

Big pat on the back to you all for saving Inchcocks Spoof career, I'm sitting here replaying the Ireland Spain match and all I can think about is how happy Inchcock must be that he is allowed back into these hallowed forums after being banned for doing something that nobody knew about until you wonderful people let us know about it.

I might actually achieve a tearful state if I knew what was wrong with the lad but then again thinking about it I might not. It's not that I wouldn't care, or even sympathise, it's just that I don't know him, never did know him and probably never will.

He's probably a lovely fella, he could also be a prize prick but that doesn't really matter.

Everyone has their problems, big problems, life changing problems, CAPITAL LETTER PROBLEMS.

If the man is so ill that you feel the need to admonish other members of the forum for not knowing that he is ill maybe you should do something worthwhile like raising a few quid to make his life a bit easier.

Moderators,

I hate moderators, not the individuals, the people, just the idea and the need for them, especially on a site like this.

Other sites I can understand it but I have a romantic notion about this place that most arguments can be sorted out with a few well crafted insults and after a while everyones happy.


In all the time I've been here we've never needed a moderator, I think it's shameful that a forum like this needs moderating, the active participants probably dont even number more than 20-25.


To close I'd just like to say that it definitely isn't the head gasket that's gone on my Transit van and that the rumour mill still turns on the subbject of EGR valves and blown turbo's'

We need more Americans on this forum, not less.

They have the money, the weapons and the man power.
