Just read this, it's a fascinating tale.

The American POW who chose China

At the end of the Korean War, thousands of prisoners from both sides faced a choice - whether to return home or remain with their captors. David Hawkins was one of a handful of American GIs who chose to go to China.

That bloke in the picture looks a bit like somebody I once met!

Oh what fun we had!

Well, I thought so.

Great Story! My step dad is 89 and still has nightmares from WW 2. He was a medic and one time this guy came running up screaming he'd been shot in the head. But when he was examined they found the bullet had followed his skull and didn't actually enter his head. Just shear luck!

As well as the 20 US soldiers who opted to live in China, there was also one Brit.

He was a Royal Marine from Scotland called Andrew Condron.

Presumably, he thought that life in China would be not as bad as returning to 1953 Scotland.

As an aside, the traitorous Condron wrote a pamphlet denigrating the West and promoting the 'worker's paradise' that he found himself in.

I'm told that it's not a riveting read.

And what about the cross dressing carrier pidgeon? He stayed there for 20 years. When the going got tough, he moved to London. Red Ken gave him and his family Trafalgar Square to live in! He shit on everyone.

Still, Boris the Bolshevik put paid to thier little game.

Has anyone got a spare pill?

It's either bed time or med time Arm. Those that live long enough will at least be able to say they saw China grow to a position where it rules the world.

In case one or two western powers haven't yet realised,
China already does rule the world..
Biggest shift of power since the industrial revolution.
