OK, I admit, it's not a new game....but I haven't played it here.

Anyone interested? Well we will soon see.

I'll tell 3 truths and 1 lie...guess my lie....and so on.

1. I had my bunions removed at 21, 4 weeks after I was married.

2. I was commissioned (paid) to put together and publish a workbook for and Adult Literacy Programme in Ontario.

3. I got to 'first base' with Rob Blake, well-known
Canadian (Ontarian) professional Hockey Player.

4. I placed 10th in the British Women's 25 mile National Time Trial (cycling) in the mid 70s.

TWO GUESSES UNLESS SOMEOME GETS IT THE FIRST TIME...THEN I TELL ALL AND EXPLAIN....FOLLOWING WHICH SOMEONE ELSE TAKES OVER.

I'd have to go with #3 on the Lie.

You've said it yourself. You're not much of a hockey fan. Mad props to you on the other accomplishments even if I'm wrong.

Now, I've blown my one forum post per week limit.... Hopefully I haven't killed your thread.

Cheers!

I reckon no. 2 is the lie, as it contains a spelling mistake.

Actually No.4 is the lie. I actually placed 18th. The famous 'Beryl Burton' wiped the floor with the rest of us riders....winning of course.

No. 3 is actually true. The Rob Blake story goes as follows:

At the time I was teaching at the same Elementary School as his brother. Rob came to visit - and was roped into playing in the Student versus Teachers Annual Baseball Game.

I'd never played before...teachers pitched to teachers and my claim to fame is 'Rob Blake pitched to me...I hit the ball...which was a shock to everyone...and I made it to
first base.

So there you go. That one was true!

P.S. and was a typo

Erskin....it's 3 truths and a lie NOT 3 lies and a truth
You're a little backwards there.

I give up, but not without one more of mine:

1. I have been to the top of the CN Tower-Toronto

2. I have been to the tope of the Blackpool Tower-Blackpool

3. I have been to the top of the Eiffel Tower-Paris

4. I have been to the tope of the Falls View Tower-Niagara

Which one is the lie.?

Did I tell you - you remind me of someone I met on a Training Course

(insert question mark-politely-at the end of that sentence).

This reminds me of a training course.

The Eiffel Tower - you only went up to the second level.

You picked the correct one but for the incorrect reason - not that it matters....I've never 'yet' been to Paris.

You know, all this is jolly reminiscent of those ice breakers that they give you at the beginning of training courses.

It'll be "If you won £20000 on the lottery, what would you spend it on?"

Or, "what famous person would you most like to sit next to on a long-distance flight, and what would you ask them?"

Or, "talk to the person sitting next to you for 5 minutes then feed back to the group telling us

  • their name
  • their favourite extinct fish
  • their dream holiday location

Bloody hell, the training courses I've been on were in Canada but things similar to that 'last' bit are used here too (I'm English of course but never did any of those courses in UK).

Have any of you had the one where you sit back to back with a 'stranger' and describe a drawing to them which you are given and then which they have to duplicate using your verbal 'clues' - to see how good you are at 'communicating'.

I BET YOU HAVE!

I once thought I'd volunteer for MIND when I had one of my spells out of work.

That sounds like some of the stuff we did on a kind of introductory evening.

I didn't end up doing anything for MIND. Perhaps I should have done. Anyway, that's all gone now. Where it's gone, it is not possible to say.
