The Studebaker! Why not? A hybrid Studebaker would be just the thing for a classic car remake.

I can think of no other that would make a bigger noise on the auto industry except maybe, the exploding Ford Pinto.

Sometimes the light's all shinin' on me;
Other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me, What a long, strange trip it's been.

Line-caught mackerel prices are often high in the Spring, before the main run of fish moves into shallower coastal waters.

So that's something good to look forward to. Sorry, to which to look forward.

Not if you're a mackerel, mind. Mind, mackerel have trouble looking forward anyway, what with their eyes being where they are. Aye, and what is the mind of a mackerel, anyway?

Does it even make sense to ask "what is the mind"? Is mind a thing, a substance?

If mind is consciousness, that which is aware of substances, then mind itself has no substance.

Maybe there is no such "thing" as mind. Perhaps it's an action, an active process with no discrete boundaries or elements. Ever elusive to the categorising aspirations of linguistically-derived forms of itself.

Forms?

I don't eat mackerel anyway. I was going to say that I don't like mackerel, but I can't say that, as I don't know any.

I'm sure that some writers start threads such as this to clear thir desks of a backlog of drivel. Drivel is important for writers because it is the fountain of creativity. Associations of words and ideas and sounds are the raw materials of the intellect that creates great works. A simple spelling mistake can lead to the Noble Prize for Literature

Line-drying your laundered clothing gives them a fresh and pleasant smell

Line driving a baseball, conversely, doesn't.

Are you now, or have you ever been a cast member of an Off-Broadway production of Harold Pinter's "The Birthday Party?"

j/p.

At one time we were all old enough to know, yet still young enough not to know any better. Thank God (or, whoever is screening his/her calls these days) some of us can somehow pretend that to be, more or less, still the case.

Don't you think an intellegently funny wet Tee-Shirt Contest should be on Mark Lowton's to do list in 2011?

Oranges are not the only reason to get up in the morning.

Going to the toilet is another.

And getting away from the deep sea angler fish in the bed.

For some it is only belly button fluff that makes life tolerable so we should think ourselves lucky. If you collect enough you can make your own cuddly toy.

And speaking of narwhals, they feed on the flat fish that dwell deep beneath the pack ice. What horror lies in the world's dark places, what dread forms loom in the mind of a murderer?

Ah you have never tasted fermented yak milk tea until you have lived in the yurts of the tribesmen of the Kundu Hish. They have it here too but the atmosphere is nowhere the same in Fortnum and Mason despite the Punjabi waiters.

Of course, narwhals have never managed to cross the Atacama Desert. Perhaps they will one of these days.

You realise of course that Thor Heyerdal had no idea that Kon Tiki means 'Hope you drown,Swedish wanker' in Polynesian.

The Polynesian term for narwhal is "Ktiko Nkhata", which also translates as "What The Fuck Is That?"

I thought they dined on giant club house sandwiches which they hunted down and pierced with their giant spiralled ivory tusk.

But of course, if they can't get the flatfish, then they will eat a sandwich or two. They are nothing if not resourceful.

True, true and if one is not resourceful then nothing can be expected.
