My former assistant manager Pat Rice, who retired at the end of last season, has been awarded an MBE by the Queen for services to football after 40+ years in the game.
I am very proud for Pat and technically this is a trophy for the club and MYSELF because I gave Pat a job at Arsenal - well he was already at the club when I arrived but I never sacked him.
To tell the truth I thought he was French with a name like Patrice, until someone pointed it out to me. We actually communicated by sign language for 15 years.
